RailComm Provides Remote
Control Protection System to BNSF Havre
August 10, 2007 - RailComm, Inc. recently shipped and
commissioned remote control derail and blue flag protection system
to the BNSF diesel shop in Havre, Montana.
Control will be exercised from RailComm’s DOC® (Domain Operations
Controller) yard automation software. The system requires a control
interface to existing field equipment such as power derails and
power switch machines. This was accomplished by utilizing RailComm’s
field-proven universal switch controller (USC). The RailComm USC
allows the RailComm DOC® system to provide remote control to any
third party (new or existing) field equipment.
BNSF
will utilize RailComm’s RADiANT™ data radios to create a wireless
communications network between the DOC® system and the field
devices. RailComm’s license free, spread spectrum data radios offer
a highly reliable and cost effective solution.
