RailComm to expand existing remote control system at BNSF Tulsa

December 17, 2007 -- RailComm has been selected to provide a wireless remote control derail system for BNSF’s Cherokee Yard in Tulsa, Oklahoma.  The system provides a remote workstation networked to an existing Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) server platform.

This will provide BNSF personnel the ability to control and/or monitor the existing power switch control application and the new remote control derail application from multiple locations. This also provides convenient access to event logs from any connected location.

Upon activation, service tracks are safely and immediately protected by the remote control of the appropriate derail device with associated blue strobe light warning indication. RailComm’s DOC® software logs the name and trade of each person controlling the derail, along with the date and time of derail control activity.

This “Lock-out/Tag-out” information is used to satisfy FRA reporting requirements and eliminates the need for a manual logging process.
