RailComm to Provide 17 Remote Control Switches for Union Pacific December 6, 2006 – RailComm, Inc. has been selected to provide remote control of 17 powered switch machines at Union Pacific’s Roper Yard, just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah. UP chose the RailComm control system for its flexibility of design and autonomous real time updates of field devices. A point-to-multipoint wireless data communications network will be established utilizing RailComm’s RADiANT™ Data Radio technology, linking the power switch machines to two identical and interconnected outdoor-rated field control panels located strategically within Roper Yard. Switch machines with LED position indicators and point protection will be independently monitored and controlled from each field panel location.
