Industrial Yard Automation System in Service at Formosa Plastic facility

October 29, 2007 -- RailComm has successfully placed in service a wireless yard automation system for Formosa Plastics Corporation’s Marshall Yard II facility in Point Comfort, Texas.

The RailComm system optimizes yard activity for industrial switching operations through remote control of power switches from a centrally located push button control panel. The hardened, outdoor-rated control panel provides control of individual switches plus provides entrance-exit (NX) routing functionality.

RailComm’s industry leading design provides expansion flexibility for future automation opportunities and is enjoying widespread acceptance in Class 1 and industrial switching operations. Through RailComm control systems, productivity is dramatically improved since the time required to align routes for car switching has been measurably decreased.
