NICTD Utilizes RailComm's DOC® for Integrated Control of SCADA and CTC

October 22, 2007 -- RailComm, Inc. has successfully commissioned a Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) system for the Northern Indiana Commuter Transportation District (NICTD) dispatch center located in Michigan City, Indiana. The delivered system supports four dispatcher desks.

The RailComm system controls the first phase of interlocking locations that have been converted from ABS control to a modern CTC system. The RailComm DOC® system provides CTC mainline control, Track Warrant dark territory control and a full featured SCADA capability to control and monitor eleven electrical substations along the NICTD right-of-way. The SCADA system provides a series of alarms and indications for various field-based detectors including intrusion alarms, passenger annunciator, fire alarms, and equipment health monitors.
