CSX adds another RailComm DOC® Yard Automation System
August 6, 2008 -- RailComm’s DOC® Yard Automation System will join the existing RailComm Shove Track control system at CSX’s Hamlet facility in North Carolina. RailComm’s Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) pc-based control system will provide wireless remote control from the yard tower to all equipped switch locations. The DOC® System features eNtrance and eXit (NX) routing and stacked route planning capability, providing the tower operator with complete control of all routes within the yard.
RailComm Switch Position Indicator (SPI) units will be installed at each switch. The switch position indicator will flash when a route is lined over a switch. It will be constantly lit when a route is not present and will flash red when a switch is out of correspondence. A sensor is included to adjust LED brightness to accommodate day and night modes.
RailComm’s 2.4 GHz RADiANT™ data radios will provide a wireless communications network to link the office with the field locations.
