RailComm Control System
in Service at Baltimore MTA

June 23, 2008 -- RailComm has provided a wireless switch heater remote control system for the Maryland Transportation Authority’s Baltimore Northwest Yard.  The turnkey control system includes the RailComm switch heater controllers communicating to a central office via a dedicated data radio network.

RailComm’s Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) system resides in the central office and provides the system operator with a user interface to control the 25 switch heaters.

The DOC® (Domain Operations Controller) software-based control system is an advanced command, control, communications and information (C3i) server-based platform that supports a wide variety of integrated solutions for indication, control, access and distribution of critical operational data across the corporate enterprise. The RailComm system dramatically reduces energy costs while also increasing yard safety.
