RailComm’s Crew Call Software Simplifies FRA’s New Hours of Service Law

April 24, 2009 – RailComm announces the launch of its web-based crew call system to be introduced at this year’s ASLRRA show in Las Vegas. The application provides a user-friendly interface, allowing transportation personnel to easily comply with the new hours of service law (FRA Regulation 49 USC Chapter 211, in effect July 16, 2009). RailComm’s web-based service manages crew calling and hours-of-service compliance. This system can stand alone or interface to RailComm’s Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) mainline train control system, providing automatic crew information updates in the DOC® train sheet.

By creating this web-based management system, RailComm has made it affordable to comply with complex FRA hours of service and union contract rules. The crew management application provides authorized users within an organization an automated record keeping resource with built-in reporting and data storage, producing a clear audit trail.
