RailComm Awarded Contract for Fort Worth & Western’s TWC System
April 13, 2009 – Fort Worth & Western Railroad in Texas has selected RailComm’s Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) Track Warrant Control system to dispatch its dark territory. FW&WR will access their customized, state-of-the-art DOC® train control system through a web-enabled Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) delivery model. RailComm’s SaaS offering provides a monthly “pay-as-you-go” pricing model, thus eliminating capital equipment procurement constraints. Through the SaaS delivery model, the Fort Worth & Western Railroad can be remotely dispatched from any internet connected computer, located anywhere. For instance, in the case of a natural disaster, the dispatch personnel can simply be re-located to any convenient location with internet access.
Since the DOC® control application resides on servers within RailComm’s managed data center in Rochester NY, the requirement for local IT support at each railroad is eliminated.
