RailComm DOC® Commands RailAmerica’s Second Regional Dispatching Center

For Immediate Release

FAIRPORT, NY – March 30, 2005 RailComm, Inc. has supplied RailAmerica a second regional dispatch center based on DOC® (Domain Operations Controller) technology. The new center is in Cincinnati, Ohio and provides signalized control (CTC) and Track Warrant Control from a common computing platform. The DOC® system is configured with a GCOR compliant rule set that provides full conflict checking and the automatic completion of warrants. This system currently dispatches the recently expanded rail system in Ohio for RailAmerica.

Additionally, RailComm has added yet another active DOC® workstation to the American Rail Dispatching Center (ARDC) in St. Albans, VT. The ARDC is now operating five DOC® workstations to control over 20 railroads across the U.S.

Thomas R. Murphy, ARDC Director says, "The American Rail Dispatching Center (ARDC) dispatches over 3,800 miles of track using RailComm's DOC® system. From early design to the final installation, RailComm’s results and professional services outperformed all expectations. Our intense requirements and specifications were continuously met and exceeded, and most importantly their commitment to our success resonated throughout the entire process. RailComm's staff and technologies are years ahead of the rail industries standard, and we at the ARDC are proud to have RailComm as part of our team."

“The ARDC continues to expand its dispatching capabilities, largely accomplished by ARDC personnel using RailComm’s user-friendly DOC® and Graphical Designer toolset”, says Joe Denny, RailComm President. “The RailComm Graphical Designer allows our customers to independently maintain and modify their DOC® system’s GUI and database.”

RailComm’s DOC® (Domain Operations Controller) provides control for any combination of signaled and dark territory using GCOR or NORAC rules. The system employs full conflict checking and automatic completion of warrants and forms. Systems are available from a single PC up to fully redundant servers and multiple workstations. Options include multi-lingual train sheets, forms A, B, C and D, and TSR’s. A rich suite of maintenance tools is available to create graphics and configure database, security and user preferences.
