Blue Flag Automation System at BNSF's Temple, TX Fueling Facility
For Immediate Release FAIRPORT, NY –February 15, 2005. RailComm, Inc. has successfully commissioned a wireless remote control Blue Flag Indication system for the BNSF Railroad. The RailComm system controls Blue Flag Indicators at both ends of the six-track mainline fueling facility in Temple, Texas. BNSF selected RailComm’s remote control technology to decrease the amount of time required to provide protection to trains. A point to multi-point wireless data communication network was established utilizing RailComm’s RADiANT™ Data Radio technology, linking the Control Panels separated by two miles at each fueling pad with the Blue Flag Indicators that are located at each end of the fueling zone. Blue flags can now be set and removed at each end of the two-mile stretch with the push of a button at either end of the system.
