CSX Expands existing RailComm DOC® Yard Automation System

February 2, 2009 – CSX has expanded its Domain Operations Controller (DOC®) system located at CSX’s Boyles Yard in Birmingham, AL. RailComm has provided modifications to the existing DOC® Server to add graphical control for additional switch locations. CSX has taken full advantage of the DOC® system’s built-in expansion capabilities, which allow the addition of workstations and/or field control nodes without interrupting operation of the current system. Additionally, a new DOC® workstation has been added to remotely control several additional power switches.

RailComm’s 2.4 GHz RADiANT™ data radios provide a wireless communications network to link the office with the field locations.
