Peter Binas

Managing Director, Schooner Capital

Mr. Binas joined Schooner as a Managing Director in 2008 after almost ten years with management consultancy McKinsey & Company. While there, he specialized in corporate finance and strategy, advising leading players in the consumer packaged goods and retail industries in the US, Latin America and Western Europe. Core areas of focus included mergers and acquisitions, new market entry and growth strategies, competitive strategy, post-merger integration, and operational effectiveness. At Schooner, Peter serves as a director on the boards of RailComm, Colo Railroad Builders, Orthocare Innovations, and CustomMade. He also provides strategic and corporate finance support across the full portfolio. Mr. Binas holds a JD/MBA from Harvard Law and from Harvard Business School where he was a Baker scholar, and an AB with Honors from Harvard University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in Economics and Social Studies.

Frank Condurelis

Chief Operating Officer, Colo Railroad Builders

Mr. Condurelis has over 30 years of executive management and leadership experience. The past nine years have been spent focused on the railroad industry. His background includes extensive M&A work, having assisted in the review of over 70 railroad supply and construction companies. He held executive positions as Managing Partner at IncLabs and Regional & General Manager for City Search.com /TicketMaster, and executive positions at the MedStat Group, HCA and AT&T. He is presently a partner in Iron Rail Group, Iron Rail Holdings and serves on the Board of Directors for RailComm and Colo Railroad Builders, where he is currently the Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Condurelis holds a BS from the University of Tennessee and has completed extensive technical training with AT&T’s training programs at MIT.

Bruce Flohr

Founding CEO of RailTex, Inc. (1977-2001), civic leader and investor

Mr. Flohr began his railroad career with Southern Pacific Railroad and held numerous roles including Assistant Trainmaster, Project Manager Terminal Management Information System, and Terminal Superintendent. In 1975, Mr. Flohr became Deputy Administrator and Acting Administrator, Federal Railroad Administration, Washington, DC (including President of Alaska Railroad and Director, Transportation Test Center, Pueblo, CO). In 1977, he founded RailTex, Inc. in as a railcar leasing company that grew into operator of 32 railroad segments operated as 23 short line railroads, the largest short line operator in the world. The company stock became publically traded in 1993. RailTex had short line railroads in the United States, Mexico and Canada, and managed railroads in Brazil and Kazakstan. He is also on the Board of Directors of the Association of American Railroads (4 years) and Board of Directors of American Latina Logistica, the largest operator of railroads in Brazil and Argentina (12 years). He is a graduate of Stanford University, BS of Industrial Engineering; Purdue University, MS Industrial Administration; and attended the Harvard Business School, Owner/President Management Program.

Joe Forgione

President and Chief Executive Officer, RailComm LLC

Joe Forgione is the President and CEO of RailComm and serves on its Board of Directors. As President & CEO, Joe is responsible for RailComm’s corporate vision and leading the implementation of the company’s strategy and operating plan. Joe has over 30 years of experience in leading emerging and established software and services technology companies. Prior to joining RailComm, Joe held senior management positions within Lotus, IBM, Novell, and Sepaton. He has also been CEO of successful technology start-ups that resulted in significant exits, including an IPO and a M&A exit to Oracle. Joe earned an M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management, and a B.S. in Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Daniel McShane

Chairman, RailComm LLC

Since 2001, Mr. McShane has been managing McShane Rail Advisory, a transportation consultancy, which provides management consulting to both Class I and regional railroads. Through his extensive career he held a number of management positions for the Missouri Pacific Railroad and its successor, the Union Pacific Railroad, where he was responsible for the negotiation and completion of all Line Sales, Line Leases, and abandonments for the entire combined system. In 1991 he joined RailTex, Incorporated, as a Vice President initially responsible for all marketing & sales efforts at all of the subsidiary railroads. Later, he would lead the company’s acquisitions of new railroad properties both in North America and around the world, including the first privatization of any portion of the former national railway of the Soviet Union, in Kazakhstan. In 1996, Mr. McShane became President and Chief Operating Officer of Rio Grande Pacific Corporation. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri.

Scott Yaphe

Managing Director, Schooner Capital

Mr. Yaphe is a Managing Director of Schooner Capital focused on investment opportunities in venture and growth-stage companies as well as alternative asset funds. Prior to Schooner, he spent 12 years as a General Partner at ABS Ventures, a multi-stage private investment firm. Mr. Yaphe has served on the board of directors of numerous companies including Adeptra (acquired by FICO), Synchronoss Technologies (NASDAQ:SNCR), Workbrain (TSX:WB) and Paratek (acquired by RIM). Before joining ABS Ventures, he was Director of Corporate Development at a telecommunications company as well as a management consultant with A.T. Kearney where he focused on corporate strategy in emerging market regions. Mr. Yaphe received his MBA from Harvard Business School and Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University.
